Christmas was surprisingly busy given that I didn't spend it with anyone from my family. Lots of eating, lots of singing, and lots of gifts both given and received with appreciation. For one get-together I made pizza topped with basil tomato sauce and spinach pesto which proved to be a big hit. I made oatmeal/peanut-butter cookies in addition to several jars of homemade spinach pesto.
At Saturday's Christmas festivities we watched the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Christmas special. I was amazed at how much I'd forgotten - the Abominable Snowman, the red-bearded miner, the island of misfit toys - did I block all of this out from when I was a kid?
And of course one important holiday activity is the annual trek to the post-Christmas sales. I went with P. and finally met her baby girl Abby-Grace after following her photo blog. We went to Target, Wal-Mart, and Garden Ridge, although if you asked me to enumerate what exactly I bought I wouldn't be able to tell you.
