Halloween weekend entailed more costume changes than a Bollywood wedding. stormtrooper ![]() black panther ![]() iron man ![]() skeleton (the school outfit had to be a book character, hence the copy of "Dem Bones") ![]() That Friday I was in a training and Z was off because it was professional development day for the teachers, so MoBob took him to see the Big Bird movie at the Air and Space museum, followed by a ride on the Smithsonian Carousel and yet another Moroccan Festival on the Mall. We went to Boo-spectatular for the first time. It was worth the drive - Z's favorite activity was shooting down aliens. ![]() While MB took Z to French class and then a good-bye party for a little friend, I met up with another friend whom I hadn't seen since we'd returned from Australia in 1991. Then off to the Halloween party at the library. ![]() Followed by our neighbors' annual Halloween bash. I left the party early to see an excellent student production of "Little Women: the Musical" with another friend. ![]() On Sunday we went to see "Drumming with Dishes" which was absolutely charming - it was a re-mount of Arts on the Horizon's first production and we'd never seen it before. Then off to see a Lithuanian group perform as part of the Kids Euro Festival. ![]() Then we went for brunch at the local pancake house and came across an unexpected celebrity. ![]() At the Anacostia River Education Center's River Monsters event we enjoyed learning about local turtles from a giant cockroach. ![]() I'm really glad we live in a complex where kids can trick or treat in a well-lit, contained area. This year I handled the kids activity table. ![]() |
