my body seems to fall apart regularly before trips. for the philippines: cold + ear infection. for malawi: eye infection. at least i'm in an aisle seat for the longest (16-17 hours) leg, to and from jo'burg. i also get to spend the night in a swish hotel since the flight to lilongwe isn't until the next day. lots of earnest missionaries every time i take this flight, everyone except the mormons it seems.
memorial day weekend was pretty mellow.
we went to see thomas the train.
the town carnival was fun until it started to rain.
the children's science center was an excellent rainy day destination.
then it cleared up for the dc divas game. it was the first time we saw professional women's football.
for my eye infection the only one medical office open was in adams morgan, so we looked at my old grad school digs and the neighborhood playground under the trees.
Do you prefer aisle seats for the long flights? My wife was buying tickets to go home to Thailand in the fall and she was debating with herself about whether to take aisle or window. She settled on aisle for the long flight and window for the short one.
