Lots to update on, but the main thing is that Z ended up in the hospital for several days. We thought we were making a straightforward trip to the ER for his respiratory treatment, but he was admitted that Sunday, and happily discharged a day early, on the 23rd. He was in good spirits and alert, and we were in a very nice suite with a gorgeous view of the Capitol; plus the holiday season meant lots of fun activities and gifts for the hospital denizens. I've never watched so many kids' movies at one time: How to Train Your Dragon 1 & 2, Happy Feet, Inside Out, Up, and The Lorax.
Examining Babba's new mini-iPad.
Dr. Paws' Toy Workshop, where families could choose among donated gifts for their kids.
We watched a performance of Snow Day before MoBob and I enjoyed a number of holiday parties, including one where we had to Dress Up. We did a photo booth together for the first time.
On Christmas Eve we attended the service at St. Augustine's, the neighborhood Episcopal Church, then we spent Christmas Day with our family friends. It was also the Prophet Mohamed's birthday so MB went on his own to celebrate with the rest of the Moroccan community.
On Boxing Day/the first day of Kwanzaa, we visited the US Botanic Gardens' annual train exhibit and then we went to a very cute production of Bone Soup at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum.

Z got into the Umoja (unity) spirit.
We ended the weekend with a visit to the Watkins Regional Park Festival of Lights. It was definitely worth the drive - and, dare I say, better than ZooLights or the Washington DC Temple Festival of Lights. (heresy!)
