As I draft this blog post I realize that the weekend seems really action-packed but we did get in 3-hour naps each day and I made good progress on reading a couple of Jo Nesbø books; nothing like reading Nordic Noir on a hot summer day!
We started the weekend off with Let's Go Camping! with the Smithsonian Early Education Center. Z is "building a fire."
We then continued on to the Friendship Firehouse Festival and enjoyed a late lunch at Bittersweet in Old Town Alexandria.
We went home for a nap and then took advantage of the late afternoon sun to visit Anacostia Park and feed the ducks.
On Sunday we decided to take a half-day trip to the beach at Sandy Point State Park. Someone liked the mini-pool better than the actual bay.
On the way back home we stopped for Mexican food and came across an antique auto show.
Back to musical pursuits.
And artistic ones.
