Burkina Faso is known as "le pays des hommes intègres" and I'm glad to be back. We lived here in 2004-2006 and Ouaga was our last overseas posting. My visit so far has been tinged with a little bit of disappointment; as is always the case I haven't been able to see everyone I wanted, and there was a hotel mix-up (saved by an Exponent friend and her family), and Baby Z currently has a bout of diarrhea. Also, not a lot has changed as far as I can tell, and what was shiny and new when we were here is now sadly deteriorated. I'm also reminded of all that I dislike about international travel.
Last night was absolutely gorgeous and I went for a long swim. Literally the air was warm and soft, and as I floated under the starless sky I knew I had very little to complain about.
