It’s finally fall, and with that comes the annual fun stuff, this time with baby. Last weekend was pretty busy. We visited Butler’s Orchard in MD for pumpkins and apples. Baby Z is still too little to enjoy a lot of the activities but he seemed to like looking around. MoBob introduced him to the resident sheep and goats and we had a nice stroll around the different fields.
Dear friend C kindly stayed with Baby Z while MB and I saw Casablanca Mon Amour. It was OK. In a way it was sad that an American (albeit one had served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco) made a movie about a road trip by Moroccans around Morocco. We had dinner afterwards at a super-American sports bar where our perky, blond server had studied Arabic in Rabat.
We also got together with parents and babies from the neighborhood. We walked down to the Titanic Memorial and then took advantage of the coop’s Oktoberfest BBQ. Afterwards I met up with AS and Baby B at Marion Park for some playground fun. Baby Z absorbed everything in cool detachment.
I bought holiday outfits for Baby Z over the summer from ebay and storkbrokers.com, just to avoid the expense and the stress. (Stay tuned for T-Day and X-Mas outfits.) The mouse outfit (originally from BabyGap) is a little big and very warm, so we dressed him in a regular outfit and asked the daycare staff to put on the costume for the Halloween parade at 11am.
The parents were asked to decorate pumpkins for a competition. I took the lazy way out and, inspired by Discount Dame, sacrificed a pair of fishnet stockings for the cause.
AND apparently we have to get Baby Z ready for daylight savings time?! We are so screwed.
