We've been pretty good about bringing Baby Z along to...whatever. The other night we went to post-performance karaoke at Arena Stage. This was definitely not "follow along with the words on the video screen" karaoke of family parties. All of the people who performed were impressively professional; even the little old lady who warbled through "Since I Fell for You" got appreciative applause. The biggest treat was realizing that the two stars from "One Night With Janis Joplin" sang - Mary Bridget Davies who played Janis and Kim Yarbrough who played the Blues Singer - and still in top vocal form after performing. Although Arena Stage is only four blocks away, we've never been inside, and it truly is a gorgeous building. (Baby Z slept through the whole thing.)
I met a friend this morning at Pound the Hill at Eastern Market. A very cute cafe. I wish we had one in our neighborhood. We have a Starbucks inside the Safeway but it's not the same.
I've sent in Baby Z's paperwork to become a baby model. I received an acknowledgement postcard today with the words "Cute! Perfect!" in exuberant script. I hope he starts getting gigs! (all proceeds destined for the 529 fund)
