Well, that was a wash - literally. It was cold and in turns rainy and snowy but not the paralyzing snowstorm that everyone predicted. Still, it was nice to have a day at home, though MoBob had a couple of conference calls and I had to work on a document. We also did a lot of housekeeping, like laundry. MB set up the co-sleeper bed, and moved the dresser out of the closet and next to the window, where we'll change Bassou's diapers with a view of our neighbors, and put up curtains. I got the guest room ready for my sister-in-law's arrival and organized Bassou's stuff. Granted, she's not arriving til the end of April or so but I'm mindful of how crazy it will be once Bassou joins us.
I've started my weekly doctor visits and fetal monitoring. My OB told me that Bassou will be the last baby she'll deliver since she is moving to California. She got a fellowship at Stanford (boo, the Farm) and leaving in May. Everything looked good at this last visit, except that she said she'd prefer that I deliver the last week of March because of Bassou's size (stable at 6 lbs, +/- 1 lb) and my age. Well.
I don't get it - why does she want you to deliver? +/- 1 lb. is actually a 2lb variation window. He could only be 5 lbs. That is tiny! I am a twin and I weighed more than that. Wait till he's ready, I say. No of course I'm not an OB but... this seems like a common argument for delivering early that is often wrong.
