I can't access LJ at work anymore so I write up a draft in Word and then I forget all about it. Hence the lack of postings...I guess I should be more disciplined!
Even though I had a cold I still made MoBob accompany me to see the elephant parade, an annual event when the circus comes to town. This year the parade was at night – good for drawing more people, but less good for taking photos. Lots of kids came in pajamas. We should have done the same.
I also went to a fancy International Women’s Day luncheon. I ran into my erstwhile ICAP roommate so we sat together. So I got to celebrate IWD in both NYC and DC.
I’ve started using a Clarisonic Mia. I’d gotten a Sephora gift certificate from MoBob for Christmas, and I’d read a couple of reviews from sites I trust, like Jezebel and Wardrobe Oxygen. So I got one. I haven’t seen many dramatic results but it feels nice. I guess that’s what counts.
On Saturday we had an early lunch at Good Stuff Eatery which was full of people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and the end of a marathon. The burgers were definitely worth it but I wasn’t so thrilled about the fries. (The best fries I’ve ever had were at the KFC at the Jo’burg airport.) I went on to the Smithsonian American Art Museum. I’d forgotten that it was the opening of The Art of Video Games exhibit. Suffice it to say there were crowds of people representing a different demographic from the usual patrons. I went up to see The Black List and focused on the photos featuring people who weren’t celebrities, like the environment activitist or the endocrinologist. But…no Oprah? Or Bill Cosby?
MB turned the big 40 this month so we celebrated by seeing Spamalot which was absolutely hilarious. It was our first time to the Warner Theater - a nice, old-fashioned venue with an elaborate ceiling and red velvet everywhere. This Saturday: the Harlem Globetrotters.
