I was talking to some of my colleagues before I left Accra and they were a little sad that they were not going to be in the U.S. for this day. I'm glad I am here, but I know myself well enough that the last thing I need is to watch the endless coverage. I'll go to church, and later this afternoon I'll go to a vigil sponsored by two Asian Pacific American organizations at National Japanese American Memorial - in my opinion one of the more overlooked sites in Washington DC.
