When I refused to get out of bed this morning MoBob reminded me that the government was still working. So now I'm at the office, scrambling to get things done in case we do get furloughed. I have a stack of readings for the Bangladesh trip, which will probably be extended another week so I could look at CSISA sites. My office neighbor did tell me though that the hotel where he stayed is next to the American Club which has a pool and tennis courts.
On Tuesday night I was interviewed for the Mormon Women's Voices project. Faithful readers will recall that I love talking about myself in front of a captive audience - or in this case, a digital recorder. The oral histories will be housed at the University of Utah.
I feel hungry all the time.
What happens to people who are overseas if the government shuts down? Do they keep working, come home, just stay there?
There are some government folks in my office who are sort of on-loan from the Navy, and their home planet is California, so they were saying it's possible the Navy could just pull them back to CA.
