One of the things that I never got used to in moving to Washington DC is that it can be sunny *and* freezing at the same time. Conversely, during the summer it's often overcast and muggy and hot. I was glad to see a little snow again, because at least that justified a bit the freezing temps.
Snow days are always good museum days, and the National Portrait Gallery is open til 7pm, so I went to see the new Elvis exhibit. Faithful readers may recall that MoBob and I visited Graceland during our one day in Memphis. I went really in homage to my mother, who fit in between the Elvis and Beatles generations. Elvis' death was one of my first memories of my mother genuinely upset. In fact, this Christmas I sent her a CD from Night of a 100 Elvises.
No real plans for this weekend. Last night was our first Exponent II editorial staff conference call via Skype. I rarely use Skype, and there were some minor glitches in the implementation, but overall a good and productive meeting. I'm excited! Though it was a little strange to IM at the same time as listening to different speakers, and a couple of people sounded like they were eating some real goodies.
