I can't believe I've forgotten to mention that I haven't had a Diet Coke in three weeks. Maybe that's a withdrawal side effect? Faithful readers may recall that I was a 4-6 cans a day
I miss my Diet Coke but I have successfully resisted!

I've tried temporarily kicking the soda habit at times. On occasion I've gone as far as two weeks w/o any. It usually requires that a) I'm not at work during that time, b) I'm not driving anywhere far away, and c) there's some flavorful substitute beverage in the fridge (Trader Joe's Lemonade usually) because water is monotonous. It gets easier the more days that go by, but eventually I end up back at work and with all the talking I have to do, a Cherry Coke or Dr. Pepper (or Cranberry Slice for a decaf alternative) works best for curing a dry mouth and sore throat.
