I'm really not sure what is the utility of my LinkedIn account. I just keep the bare minimum in my profile and am only "linked" with people I already know. The only interesting aspect is that when I use the email address book upload function I finally know what a lot of people with whom I've casually been in touch because of the book club or freecycle or whatever actually *do* for a living.
Today I got the letter detailing how and when to get the Inauguration tickets. We're going! Woo-hoo. Although I now feel guilty that two people in a certain Congressional district in Utah have been deprived of the privilege. I can console myself by saying that not many Republicans would make the trek out here - but what if I'd (inadvertently) taken seegrim's tickets?
Since Monday's the MLKJ holiday and the national day of service, I've signed up for bayanihan for Fil-Am vets. Both of my grandfathers fought in WWII, and the plight of vets is probably one of the few issues the otherwise fragmented Fil-Am community agrees on.
