The security officer called today and informed me that somehow, some way, I got an interim security clearance. I was told when I started that it would take awhile given my travel history and spouse, but amazingly, I got it in my second month. It'll be a few weeks before I get the special badge and undergo a couple of trainings, but in theory I can now be deployed on a disaster assistance response team.
Woohoo! Congrats on pulling the wool over the eyes of the naive and foolish government overlords. Er, um... something like that ;-)
(To the government overlords reading this message, I'm kidding. Really. No, really! You can trust ticklethepear!)
