I fly to Boston tomorrow to attend the annual Exponent II retreat. I've never been, and I haven't been to Boston since college. I've been published in the Exponent II a couple of times, once on my *ahem* garments and the other time about my experience in Morocco. I'm looking forward to meeting the other participants. I'm curious also if my friend and I will be one of the few people under 40 and how many other people of color will be there. I still haven't figured out what it means to me personally to be a MoFem, especially of the dark and lovely variety.
Did you know that "Mormons in international relations" is a Googlenope? It is my second Googlenope ever. My first was "Republicans who compost." Regardless of its Googlenope status, I hope that people will show up to the Mormons in IR fall social I'm organizing for October 20th, at the same bar/resto on U St. that the French meet-up group has its events. I tooled around a bit on the @cal website and created two groups, Cal RPCVs (for alums who served in the Peace Corps) and Bears in International Relations. As of this morning there is a grand total of two members in each group, myself and a person who works at a think tank in DC.

If you enter - "Mormons in international relations" - you will get no hits (well, now you get one hit where a newspaper picked up your blog comment.) But if you enter - mormon "international relations" - instead, you get about 78,000 hits.
