These conversational quirks drive me batty:
* phrasing statements as questions
* using "issue" as a synonym for "problem"
* using the present tense to narrate something in the past
* You know? Like.
I'm definitely guilty of the last, and I'm super conscious of the others. Ya know?
DVDs from last weekend
Speed: Oh, Keanu Reeves was really cut. Hard to believe this movie is 13 years old!
Toy Story: I really liked the references to horror/suspense/thriller classics. Especially Woody turning his head around like Linda Blair in The Exorcist.
ET the Extra-Terrestrial: one of my favorite movies from my childhood. Funny to see as an adult and with a loved one who'd never seen it before. I understood more the mom's role than I did as a kid, for example. The DVD was the 20th anniversary edition so there were some additional scenes. A true classic.
