Tickle · the · Pear

We thought we'd do a trial run of hosting a dinner in our cozy digs. We invited all four missionaries plus two old friends from the ward.

MoBob made:
* harira (tomato soup)
* kefta (meatballs in a tomato sauce) with rice/bread

I made:
* bruschetta
* caponata
* raisin cake (originally supposed to be made with dates but I couldn't find any)

So it was kind of a hybrid Italian-Moroccan meal. Regardless, all was consumed with much appreciation. There were eight of us crammed into the living room with two folding tables. It was hot, but good fun. The elders came from Utah, Idaho, and Nevada - and only one came from a largish town (Orem). It was their first time with Moroccan food and it was cool to see their taste buds wake up. I thought it was appropriate that we ended fast and testimony Sunday with the soup traditionally eaten during Ramadan. Yum!
