Bad news:
Mohamed's father passed away last Friday, and MB left for Morocco on Sunday evening. His dad was over 70 years old and had been sickly for a long while. He was also a Member of Parliament and MB told me on the phone today that over 100 people have been visiting each day.

Good news:
I finally have a laptop and internet access at home.

I have a couple of job offers I'm mulling over.

The living room, kitchen, and bathroom are finally "arranged" although that means that everything's been stuffed out of sight into drawers and cabinets, or, alternatively, dumped in the bedroom or basement.

Paul and I send our condolences. Our thoughts are with you and Mohamed. Was he able to return to Morocco in time for the funeral? Please give him our love when you speak to him next. And take care of yourself.

Thanks! His was buried right away, but I'm glad MB was able to get a ticket at a reasonable price (just under $1,200).

Then out spoke brave Horatius, the Captain of the Gate: "To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late; And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, For the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods"

Yay about the job offers (though sometimes having a choice is a mixed blessing), but so, so sorry about MB's dad. Even when folks are on the old and sickly side, saying goodbye is still hard.

So sorry to hear about your father-in-law's passing. Glad that Mohammad was able to be with the rest of his family. Must be hard to be so far away from them, especially after losing another parent.

Hope everything in the job department works out well for you.
