I was tooling around the schools page on LJ and bilaterally friended (does that make sense?) mokey4 who is a fellow SAIS alum and RPCV, and through her site joined pc4women and rpcv.
That got me to thinking about my Peace Corps experience. Us TEFLers used stripper names instead of our own real names to swear in so I've always wondered if my PC service was valid. (It'd better be.)
My stripper name was Midnight Fire. Don't ask me where I got that from.
Here's my questionaire for pc4women.
And here's the text of the oath. Insert "Midnight Fire" where appropriate.
"I, _______, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
