As much as I enjoy my job (most days), I'm still glad it's Friday.
This week has been pretty exciting in the sense that we've switched over from Outlook to Gmail. I didn't think it would be so painful - I've used Gmail for my personal email for years now - but on the other hand, I've never had to search for someone's work email or reserve a conference room on Gmail. I never thought I'd prefer a MS product, but I do miss some features on Outlook. For example, people's email addresses show up with their phone number and office location. Oh well.
I had a cool experience this week in facilitating an e-consultation. I'll be working on some other online events in the near future - finally able to apply my social media skills at work. I'll also start working part-time from home, i.e. still working full-time but going home from the office at noon.
In Bassou-related news, the mommies group I belong to hosted a session with a lactation consultant. MoBob and I had already gone to one breastfeeding class each but we still learned new stuff. I doubt I'll be able to retain any of this info anyway. In one class we attended, one of the other couples sounded like they were planning a scheduled c-section and hiring a night doula; by the end of the class they seemed pretty surprised that their choices weren't following standard recommendations. (If I had more energy I'd post links.) Gifts are already starting arrive for my Bassou, and I finally figured out my baby registry. I've stopped drinking diet coke and committed to start winding down for bed by 8pm. Technically I have 8 weeks to go.
