I don't like it. It looks *a lot* like BBC World, complete with rotating globe. And yet the website retains the same '80s era blocky red-white-and-blue graphics. CNN also changed one of my favorite bits - the tantalizing glimpses of places around the world - they used to be fast-forwarded clips like that inscrutable art house documentary Koyaniqaatsti (I know I spelled that wrong). I loved recognizing places that I've actually visited - the Mohamed V mausoleum in Rabat, the Nairobi international center, the Haghia Sophia in Istanbul - clever CNN never showed obvious sites like the Eiffel tower. I wasn't happy when TV5 changed its look either but I chalked that up to their being French.

I have to admit, I usually do my morning routine, getting ready for work etc., w/ CNNi on the entire time. But I have found I'm less grumpy when I don't fill my head with depressing, sensationalistic, breathless news before work. So now I'm watching 24/7 Olympic coverage on Eurosport (love the English audio option), which is much more heartening, in its way. And the recap program in the morning fits nicely with my schedule. When the Olympics end, I will probably end up back at CNN again. Alas.
I wish we had Eurosport or CNN - I've been looking for a schedule of Olympic coverage on CNN but no luck. I might have to resort to TV5 for this.
I also have CNNi on in the AMs since BBC doesn't come on in English until 7:30am (and then we're already in the car). I'm not too keen on Andrea and Max though. Andrea reminds me of annoying girls from high school.
