I was looking through my GoogleCal to see what else we did that I don't have photographic evidence of - we were superbusy!
We ventured across the Anacostia to eat at Ray's the Steaks at East River for my birthday dinner. We enjoyed seeing Luci Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr. perform their parents' music in Babalu! Celebrating the Library’s Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Collection - MoBob is a huge fan of I Love Lucy. Bill Bryson was an entertaining speaker and signed all of my copies of his books. I staffed the book club/cultural events table for Sproul in Washington and listened to current UC Berkeley Chancellor. Go Bears! We watched three movies at the Arabian Sights Film Festival: The Italian, Operation Casablanca, and Rough Hands. I attended afternoon tea with the director of the National Museum of African Art and she talked of the museum's outreach work with DC taxi drivers. We ventured to far-away Vienna to see one of our favorite bands, Hey Marseilles, in concert. I went on a "research visit" to DC Improv's Trivia Night. MB's colleagues' supper club met up at Four Sisters Restaurant for incredible Vietnamese food. I started belly-dancing at Joy of Motion and signed up for classes at the DC Fencing Club.
