I have about a zillion hours of comp time so I've taken this week and next week off.
Of course I came down with a cold.
My flight from Jo'burg to Atlanta was the best I could hope for without being upgraded to first class: an aisle seat, with an empty middle seat (more elbow room and more space for my tote bag), and a quiet but solicitous passenger in the window seat. Plus I enjoyed watching a lovely little Australian film called The Dish which somehow I missed when it came out in 2000. I'm now a fan of U*Tique, which quickly dispatched replacement goodies when the vending machine refused to dispense my purchases.
And then it was my birthday! We shopped at Ikea, had dinner at Ray's the Steaks at East River, went on a (chilly and overcast) cruise of the Potomac, and then watched the Caps beat the Blackhawks from magnificent seats.
