I'd won tickets from the local NPR station to see R. Buckminster Fuller: The History (and Mystery) of the Universe at the Arena Stage. It was the first time I'd been to Arena Stage's temporary digs in the underground rabbit warren known as Crystal City, and the current production is the last before moving to the newly renovated theater. The show itself was a one-man performance by an actor whom we'd already seen in The Rivalry last January. While I totally admire his performance alone, with a bunch of strange stage props and an overhead projector for two and a half hours, it was still slow going for a non-philosophical, non-scientific luddite like myself. Still, I could appreciate the beauty of spheres.

You seem to always be going to or doing really interesting things! I need to be a little more adventurous in my own town. It's small but we have some things and stuff I can do. I just don't. Especially now that it's hot.

There's just so much to do in DC - there's a lot I'd regret not doing if we leave here.

I would love to live in DC or near it at least. I love it there. It's such a beautiful city.

I think ultimately I'd rather live in San Francisco, but DC is a better place career-wise.
