I had a great time, not only work-wise but catching up with old friends and seeing what I can of the city. Goree Island was probably my favorite place; even though it is the tragic site because of its slave history, the island has since been transformed into an arts center.

The view from my hotel room.

One of the markets.

The rocky beach.

The door of no return on Goree Island - the last glimpse of slaves leaving for America.

Bright houses on Goree Island.

Local art.

If I bought this, how could I get it home?

Lunch at Chez Fatou Kim restaurant.

The restaurant roof.

The display outside the restaurant.

You should ask Bob for tips on this one--he's brought home lots of crazy stuff!
