I've been sadly negligent of doing family history work so recently I've been making more of an effort. In 8th grade I made and kept a rudimentary family tree, based on a more extensive family tree that my grandmother sketched out. I was working from the originals and then realize that they were priceless documents, so made photocopies and stored the originals in our safe. It's hard to make out my grandmother's spidery handwriting, but as I complete the family history records I remember her more clearly. She was a working woman, a school teacher, who taught generations of kids in our hometown. In fact, my cousin Helga, who is two years younger than me, was in my grandmother's last first grade class before retirement.
For the moment I'm just filling out the boxes on the personal ancestral file charts. My grandmother hadn't put any dates or places, but she did include full names, so I'm sure I can complete the info from the geneology records online, since the Catholic Church in the Philippines is pretty well-documented.
In the meantime I'm waiting for the thundersnow snowpocalpsepalooza.
