On Tuesdays admission to the Butterfly Pavilion at the Museum of Natural History is free. I would've paid the reasonable fee ($6 per adult) anyway as it was a very lovely exhibit. Everyone had to wait in an enclosed holding area before entering the warm and humid pavilion, and exit into another enclosed vestibule to inspect oneself for any "passengers." The only caveat is that the flooring within the enclosure is made up of muted earth-tone tiles so I imagine the, er, mortality rate, is significant, since so many butterflies are (1) muted earth-tone colored and (2) a lot of people forget to watch where they step.

I'm always pleasantly surprised by what my dinky little camera can do.
