For some reason every evening I get sneezy and so take some anti-histamines before going to bed. The congestion is gone by the morning but I also feel sluggish and tired. I completely blanked on a weekly conference call this morning (granted, I was working on another document).

Last night I had a pleasant evening with mortuus who kindly chauffered me to Goodwill and then Target. The shade on the floor lamp in our living room fell apart, so I bought a new one plus some Oreo cake-y things, and then we had ice cream and I got donuts for MoBob. The lamp shade I'd chosen did not have a price tag so the cashier rang it up for $5 - a minor shopping triumph. My strategy from now on is to never go to Target alone, as I end up wandering the aisles and exiting with $200+ of stuff I have previously lived happily without.

I'd like to take a post-lunch nap.

Have you considered using a neti pot?

You could try Zyrtec (10 mg) and Xantac (150 mg) (or their generic equivalents). That's what I take to beat back the hives and swollen face that my immune system tortures me with, and they work well, plus no drowsy side effects. Might work for seasonal allergies as well. (And yes, Xantac is an antacid or whatever, but it's also an antihistamine. Taking both drugs blogs both H1 and H2.)

Yay drugs! I think I'd hurt myself with a neti pot.
