non-mother's day

It was pretty mellow. My ward's so great - the speakers were given the theme of "temples" and there were just a few references to moms, and more on the importance of families in general. MoBob came to the meet and greet afterwards and we shared tiny cupcakes. Then we went home and MB planted his flowers and cilantro.

We are reading Three Cups of Tea for book club and I just can't get into it. Maybe because I'm looking at everything with a jaundiced professional eye. Maybe because I get heavy doses of Pakistan already.

Beautiful weather over the weekend. I slept a lot, and it was pleasant to take a nap with the bedroom door open and the breeze and the rustling leaves. I had a good tennis practice - I think the coach finally has some hope in me. We didn't get to see Star Trek though. Maybe next weekend.

I don't want to read Three Cups of Tea because I think I'll read it with the same approach. Everyone thinks it's awesome. Good for them.

I wonder if people in other professions get just as annoyed about books in their field!

They probably do. I think I'm also secretly jealous that I'm not the one that wrote these books :D

I thought of you when I saw Star Trek last weekend. It was great, and I hope they do a few more like that before the writers, cast & crew get too tired (or greedy) to keep it going. I like the Next Generation etc. ok, but this movie was the way Star Trek should be done. I hope you see it soon and enjoy it!
