I ended up with a cold after tennis in the rain and missed half a day of training. I've been going out to the training center every day and it's beginning to wear me out. I can't imagine making this commute (in either direction) every day.
So, yeah: I'm ready to serve on a DART now. I just don't know how I'm going to lug all that communications equipment around.
The patriarch who gave me my patriarchal blessing, Brother David S. King, passed away this week. He was one of the early prominent Mormons in international relations, and I got to know his daughter (who was No. 2 at Peace Corps for the past eight years) and his grandson and granddaughter-in-law (with whom I stayed in Portland last year).
