Yesterday I sent Passover greetings courtesy of hallmark.com to about 28 Jewish friends. That's about 28 more than I have Muslim friends. For some reason that bothers me, more so that not having Buddhist or Hindu or Baha'i friends. More to the point, I don't have any female Muslim friends. I had lots of friends while I was overseas, many of whom I still keep in touch with, but not here in the U.S. It's weird. MoBob and I regularly go to Morocco- and Islam-related events. He belongs to the Muslim Student Association. The DC Metro area has a high concentration of American Muslims in our age group. So it's definitely not for lack of opportunity.
No it doesn't. The way I see it, you shouldn't threat your friends as a card collection. Not that I'm saying that you do. But with friends, you either have them or you don't.
I don't have any lesbian friends. And I'm not looking to remedy that. If I hit it off with someone who happens to be a lesbian, great. If not, well... No need to lose sleep over it.
My two cents.
