Surprisingly, despite the cold and overcast weather, there were tons of people (and kites) at the Kite Festival. We walked around and admired the kites (photos forthcoming) and then had hot dogs while watching a kickball game. Of course the hot dogs were just a "snack" so we stopped by Kenny's BBQ in our neighborhood. It's just a couple of blocks from our house and we pass by there all the time but it wasn't until mortuus told me that the food was really good that I was able to convince MoBob to give it a try. Needless to say, extremely delish - MB had the beef and I had the pork, and between us we had corn, sweet potatoes, fries, mac & cheese, and corn bread. MB told me that he was planning to watch the World Cup qualifying match between Morocco and Gabon so we skipped out on square-dancing and I took a nap. Alas, Morocco lost.
MB just took off to join a friend for a DC United game so I'm going to bed early (despite the nap). DC United and Washington Freedom are doing several double-headers this season and we're planning to attend the one on May 23.
