No, it ain't. This morning MoBob and I left the house together, a rare occurrence indeed. I clutched to MB's arm the whole time despite his comment that I "walk like a turtle." When we finally got to Union Station he helped me over a patch of ice and an older lady remarked, "Oh, how nice!" I felt compelled to point out that I had to *ask* him for help.
I have one free weekend while I'm in Thailand and I'm trying to decide between spending it in Chiang Mai or Ko Samui (or another beach area). I'm more tempted by Chiang Mai actually. I was told that it's possible to visit Angkor Wat in a weekend, but I think it might be a bit much logistically (given that I'll be on official USG travel) to venture to another country.
A friend on FB posted this video, from the Schweppes Short Film Festival. Very cute! (in two parts)
I vote for Chiang Mai. Have someone take you shopping outside of town. There are lots of craft workshops to see and enjoy. There's also a pretty temple in the hills above town. I was there a long time ago and still have fond memories of the place. Ko Samui may sound tempting, especially with the snowy DC weather, but it starts to look like every other touristy tropical beach.
