I'm back from my epic visit to the Pacific Northwest. It was wonderful to stay with JaneAnne in Portland, Donna in the environs of Eugene, and Mandy in Seattle. I had a great time just hanging out in a family context, and getting to know the spouses and kids better. It was an interesting sociological sampling too: a small LDS family, a large LDS family, and a small interfaith/intercultural family. Also each friend came from a different stage of my life, so that was cool too - I'm just so impressed that we could just pick up like no time had passed. Even though I may never become a biological mother, I'm glad I was able to share a little bit of that experience. Photos forthcoming!
And now back to work and trying to catch up with all the excitement that happened while I was gone. It doesn't help that Ramadan started and MoBob is Grouchy for God. Yes, please, more Ramadrama. Exactly what I need. Grr.
Yeah. This upcoming Sunday should be fun, as MB always mocks me for not being able to last until 3pm or so.
When we lived in Morocco I used to call him up around sundown during Ramadan and make him listen to the sound of frying bacon.
Grouchy for God!
That's fabulous! Can I get that on a bumper sticker?
Perhaps you should invite MoBob to fast with you once a month when you do. That way, he'll have practice sessions under his belt for the heavy weight fasting of Ramadrama.
