I've decided to spend the weekend of June 21-22 in Amsterdam. I've booked a room at the Hans Brinker Budget Hotel, subject of a very amusing review on lonelyplanet.com. I thought about getting just a bed in a dorm room, but then I decided I was getting too old for that kind of scene and coughed up enough tanking dollars for a single room.

cleaning, purging, sleeping, organizing...sounds like the week I've had.

Amsterdam sounds heavenly. How do you deal with jet lag when you make a long trip like that only for a couple days?

I arrive in Brussels a week earlier so hopefully by that time I'll be adjusted....

Amsterdam is just beautiful. I found the queues at Anne Frank's House too much but I loved Rembrandt House.

Yeah, all the guides I looked at recommended getting there early! Though I'm not sure I'm up to it after having gone to the Holocaust museum here and the Museum of Resistance in Lyon.
