Lyon is famous for its cuisine, and of course I have to take advantage. I went with several colleagues this evening to a local bouchon. The restaurant is called "Le Condé" which means "the cop." Well. I had gratin de quenelle. I was sorry to have forgotten my camera, but it kinda looked like this except it was a lot more, well, bubbly. It looked like one of those alien beings that end up swallowing planets. I just wasn't into it. So the evening ended with another cheese sandwich in my hotel room. Gah.

It kind of reminds me of the ceiling crepe that attacked Spock, maybe in the larval stage.

It looks delicious! It's just meatballs in cheese, right? Bubbly cheese is the BEST way for cheese to be!

Oh my god now I want bubbly cheese meatballs...

I would've loved bubbly cheese meatballs too - except that the dish above consisted of dumplings made of flour mixed with ground fish.

Dumplings made of flour mixed with ground fish. (Why I can handle food in Africa and yet be stymied by French cuisine is beyond me.)
