Yeah, right.

vasco_pyjama wrote about careers overseas with reference to monkeygirldiva's list of myriad life options.

In response to what MGD wrote:

I hit my 10 year mark this year but I cheat by saying that two years of grad studies in the US is equivalent to one year overseas. Decided on Option 1 due to parents' retirement, hubby's need to establish US residency for his citizenship papers, and attempts at high tech baby-making.

Addendum to Option 2: let the dementors suck your soul and work for the World Bank.

Addendum to Option 3: stay in international development but join a private sector consulting firm. See #2 re "soul."

Option 9: Marry a local.

Option 10: Become a middle-age lady consultant with flowing clothes and ethnic jewelry.

Gah.

ugh
so true...even the laughter and then the sighing. i like your addendums (addendi?). the original post mentions approaching age 40- i'm worried about making it to 30 or 35! yet i know this is for me. it's like we're trapped. ignorance is bliss sometimes, then maybe we wouldn't be doing what we do. ah
